La Vanille Nature Park - Entrance Fees Opening: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (last ticket at 4:30 p.m.) To fully enjoy the park, the animals, and the activities, we recommend planning a half-day visit. La Vanille Nature Park, also known as La Vanille Crocodile Park, was created in 1985 and its name pays homage to the vine once cultivated in the valley where the 3.5-hectare reserve is located. In this magnificent setting, hospitality, conservation, and the welfare of the animals of Mauritius are paramount, and guides will accompany you on unforgettable tours of the reserve. Stroll through a lush green setting amidst banana trees, palm trees, and giant bamboo, in the shade of which a large number of our Nile crocodiles bask. You can even have your photo taken with a baby crocodile. La Vanille Nature Park is home to the largest number of captive Aldabra giant tortoises in the world (nearly a thousand individuals), as well as other species including the Madagascar radiata. Monkeys, lemurs, iguanas, bats, deer, geckos, eels, wild boars, donkeys, chameleons, and other species await you within the park.
